Dans la classe

La Neuville welcomes about 40 children, from 6 to 16.

We have three classes :

- La classe de l'Escalier (the stairs class). It is the primary class, open to children from 6 to 11 or 12. There are about 15 pupils in this group.

- La classe des Onze marches (the eleven steps class). The program of this class is the one of the beginning of the secondary school, and the groups is made of 15 children from 11 to 13.

- La classe de l'Angle (the corner class). 10 children from 13 to 16 work on the program of the end of the french secondary school.

In these classes, we use a part of the techniques created by Célestin FREINET and institutions cas described by Fernand OURY.

The main activities in La Classe de l'Escalier are the letters exchange [correspondance scolaire], the school outings [sortie-enquête], the freely built texts [textes libres].

Children have not good or bad marks but school belts [ceintures de scolarité], created by F. OURY, thinking about the judo belts.
